About Background and Experience

Background Biography

The story of Scott is commonplace and spectacular at the same time.  Born to young parents and living in Oshawa as a child, Scott proclaims to growing up in Port Perry, Ontario, which during the 1980's was primarily a farming community expanding into a bedroom community for commuters from urbanized areas east of Toronto.  While it would seem that very little significantly unusual occurred during adolescence and through teenagehood, what did happen were key initial footsteps whereas, today at age 50, Scott often reflects upon many subsequent life events as manifests of verious earlier contingencies.  Very early on, Scott sensed a desire to create a legacy built on contributions to others; and despite a lack of plan or understanding how to manifest this sense into a reality, the 'magic' of life unfolded in a chain of events to create an invisible pathway leading to the unfurling of the vision.

Quiet, sometimes bullied, frequently feeling shy and awkward, but with a good sized record collection, Scott, with twin Steve, began a disk jocket service in September 1983 (age 14).  For the first two years, while still unable to drive Scott and twin brother Steve were shuttled between gigs by their parents.  It was during these early years that the shyness began to dissipate and the experience as a DJ grew helped establish a comfort in public speaking.

Without post-secondary education dreams or plans, or at least dreams Scott believed were available, Scott began working life in an electronics chain store and struggled for the first few months; however, in early 1989, a sales trainer took Scott under wing and shared many valuable lessons that Scott now works to share for the benefit of others.  From the early sales training assistance, along with reading of various sales and motivation books from the all-time greats such as Zig Ziglar, Joe Girard, Brian Tracy, Bob Proctor, among others, along with the winning of many company sales awards, a great confidence began to gain within Scott including a belief in the 'world is your oyster' of possibilities.  In time, Scott moved from selling electronics to automobiles to insurance to selling and delivering legal services to marketing services to coaching and training services.

Scott McEachern matriculated from Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario as a graduate of the two-year paralegal diploma program.  Scott excelled as a student, garnering the Durham Region Chairman’s Scholarship Award and earned recognition as the Highest-Ranking Graduate finishing the paralegal program with a 4.96/5.00 GPA by completing all but one course with a 90% or higher grade (14 of 25 courses were completed with grades above 95% of which four were completed with a perfect 100% score).

Prior to paralegal studies, Scott was an insurance broker providing commercial risk management and insurance services with a specialty focus on the development of business insurance programs for various industry sectors.  Key favourites of Scott involved was in serving the ‘green trades’ whereas Scott conceived and developed the GreenSure insurance plan for landscapers and the TreeSure insurance plan for arborists.  Over the years, Scott also developed and managed the Canadian Association Program for non-profit organizations, among other focused programs for physiotherapists, janitorial services providers, and interior designers, as well as providing commercial insurance brokering for businesses within challenging risk sectors such plastics manufacturing, general contracting, information technology, and others requiring technical coverage assistance.

Over the years, Scott has contributed to various professional and community organizations serving as a director for Durham Deaf Services, Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association, and the Sunrise Optimist Club.  Scott also contributed to community as a volunteer for the Rotary Club of Port Perry and assistant to the Orono Leafs peewee boy’s hockey team.

Today, Scott works hard to share knowledge gained over the past thirty years on a variety of subjects ranging from general business development involving marketing and salesmanship, among other things, as well as providing consulting and coaching to lawyers and paralegals on matters of practice management and litigation case management.  Scott especially enjoys sharing information on law and legal matters as earned from a wealth of direct experiences and indirect client exposures.
